As you would expect, Brian and I have discussed the fire in depth. We're glad that we weren't farther along than we were (well, Brian wasn't farther along, anyway) and that there weren't more "things" up there that could have burned. I mean, what if the lumber was up there for the house that Brian's going to build? It would have been gone. Now, there's nothing left to catch fire. And most likely, it won't ever build up like that, now that Brian's working the land. As for our future home, there will be fire sprinklers inside. The roof will be metal. And Brian wants lots of lawn around the house. Lots of lawn means lots of sprinklers and water. So, he tells me it will be very fire resistant.
I sure hope so.
