Brian really wanted to get going on the property. He called rental places in El Centro and Brawley, trying to find an affordable way to disk the property. Maybe rent a tractor and some heavy disks, to turn over the earth. He checked with some local companies. The people that he knew, well, their equipment was already out on construction jobs. And the rental places wanted too much money. Although he has his own equipment, he wasn't very positive that it would do the job.Saturday, August 17th, he went up and met with a man who had equipment. And he told Brian what he'd charge. Brian said it would have cost $8,500 to $10,000 for this man to do it. Brian politely said he'd think about it. Then Brian got his tractor out and got his disks out and started on the property himself. He got ten of our eighty acres done. There would be no need to rent equipment or hire someone else to do it.
